A group of neighbors discuss the Micron project in Clay

In return for billions in taxpayer support, Micron can afford to make binding and enforceable commitments on job quality, community benefits, environmental protections, and public transparency. Our neighbors and communities deserve a real return on investment.

Neighbors for a Better Micron is a group of residents across Central New York who are coming together to make sure our future neighbor, Micron, prioritizes the community.

Micron will receive upwards of $20 billion in public subsidies from taxpayer dollars, and has begun an unprecedented 20-year construction project that will impact us for generations. We welcome the investment and look forward to a brighter future.

With a project of this size and scale, locals must have a say in how this company exists in our community. A Community Benefits Agreement will ensure that the Micron project creates good local permanent jobs and will create accountability to protect housing affordability, clean air and water, and the health and environment of our region. Micron has already committed to good construction jobs: we want them to do the same for permanent jobs in our community.

We’re Growing!
